Welcome Them Home: Build Trust from the Beginning

Bringing a new animal into your home is an exciting and beautiful journey. It's also a time of transition, uncertainty, and adjustment for everyone involved. The first three days, three weeks, and three months with a new animal companion are critical. This is when trust is built, boundaries are established, and the foundation for your entire relationship takes shape.

Animal Reiki supports every stage of this journey, helping them feel safe from the beginning, easing the anxiety of those early weeks, and strengthening the bond as they settle in. Whether you've welcomed a brand-new life, a young soul full of energy, or a wise senior deserving of peace, Reiki helps you both start this journey with connection, trust, and calm.*

The First 3 Days: Ease the Overwhelm

Those first three days are the hardest. Your new companion is overwhelmed, possibly scared, and unsure of what's happening. They may hide, refuse to eat, or shut down completely as they try to process this enormous change. Reiki creates a sense of safety and calm, signaling to their nervous system that they're no longer in danger. As their stress decreases and their body relaxes, they can begin exploring, eating, and taking those first tentative steps toward trust.

The First 3 Weeks: Building Connection and Confidence

During the next three weeks, your companion is watching, learning, and figuring out their new environment. This is a delicate time when the foundation of your relationship forms. Reiki strengthens the energetic bond between you, helping them feel emotionally secure to show their true personality. You're not just creating habits, you're building mutual trust and creating a genuine partnership.

The First 3 Months: Rooted in Trust, Ready to Thrive

True security takes time. Reiki throughout these critical first three months helps your companion move from "I think I'm safe" to "I know I'm home." This deep-rooted sense of belonging strengthens your intuitive connection and ensures that as life brings inevitable changes, your animal has an unshakeable foundation of trust to return to.

The 3-3-3 guideline (3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to settle, 3 months to feel fully secure) provides a helpful framework, but it's not rigid. Whether you start Reiki on day one or week two, and whether your companion needs support for two months or six, we'll meet them exactly where they are.

Your first session focuses exclusively on your new family member, just you and them, to establish trust and assess their unique needs. After that, if you have other animals, we'll include them in future sessions to create household-wide energetic harmony as everyone adjusts together.

Sessions typically last 30-45 minutes and can be done at your home or via distance healing through a video call. We'll customize the sessions based on your companion's needs, whether that's weekly during intense adjustment, bi-weekly check-ins, or monthly support throughout their transition to their new home.

What to Expect in and After a Session
Did You Know?

Rescue animals often carry invisible stress from their past. Changes in home, routine, and caregivers (even positive ones) can trigger anxiety, fear, or behavioral challenges. Reiki helps release this stored stress and trauma, helping your new companion feel safe and more at home.
